From Glacial Fjords to Australia
"In our search for the perfect source, we found the small village of Sundal. Located in the beautiful Hardanger fjord, at the base of the Bondhus Glacier, Lerøy’s Fjord Trout lives between the 1000 meter mountain peaks.
The hatchery itself lies under the glacier, and the plant is filled with mountain water from the glacier. Lerøy has six fjordtrout hatcheries in total and around 20 seawater locations in operation."
Fjord trout are born and farmed in the magnificent fjords that lie nestled among the enchanting high mountains of West Norway, and are in demand all over the world.
Glacial waters, when combined with the sea water in the fjords, provide the best possible conditions for trout. Fjord trout has a unique, deep red-coloured flesh and is both tender yet firm, with a delicate and fresh flavour.
